About 50 people are said to have escaped quarantine from the Kenya Medical Training College KMTC in Nairobi.
The president of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta has spoken out regarding the escape from the medical facility. He said that Kenya’s biggest challenge in battling the COVID 19 pandemic is the lack of seriousness of Kenyans, and Kenyans were taking the threat of the pandemic lightly.
Reports say that the police force is actively searching for these escapees so that they can complete the mandatory 14 days quarantine.
He made this statement yesterday, 21st of April, during a radio interview. President Kenyatta said that the people who escaped from the KMTC medical facility will be arrested and forced to complete the mandatory 14 days of quarantine.
According to statistics, Kenya has confirmed 296 cases of the COVID 19 virus and the country has also recorded a total of 14 deaths from the virus.
