As the number of Coronavirus cases continue to soar in Lagos State, the State Governor has announced that the use of face masks in public places will soon be made mandatory for all residents of the state.

The Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made the pronouncement in a statewide address where he also announced that the state will be commissioning three new isolation facilities to use as it battles to break the transmission circle of the virus in the state.

He explained that the state delayed the use of face mask until now to enable local tailors come up with home made masks to avoid scramble for the already scarce surgical masks in the state.

The Governor assured residents of the state to sleep with two eyes closed as the state government and the security agencies are on the look out against any criminality.

He called on Muslim faithful to maintain the social distancing and not more than 20 persons per gathering policies of the government ahead of the Ramadan season.
