Wuhan, mainland China where Coronavirus broke out in December 2019 suddenly on Friday increased its COVID-19 death poll by 50% which is higher than the initially recorded death poll.

According to Chinese media, Local officials disclosed that earlier deaths were not recorded as a result of the overwhelming condition of the city’s medical facilities at the time.

There have been controversies following the figures recorded by China on COVID-19. China which is the most populous country in the world, with a population four times higher than the population of the United States has lesser cases than the US.

The President of the United States who doesn’t seem to agree with the numbers had asked the general public if we all believe in the numbers provided in the vast country of China. The local authorities revised the previous death poll of 2,579 to 3,869.

There is an additional 1,290 figure which is about 50% jump. Another change was the newly added 325 cases which didn’t result in death. Now, the total number of cases in the city is 50,333.

Also, China’s confirmed death poll is at 4,632. An official in Wuhan who remains unidentified disclosed that due to the shortage in admission and treatment capability of the medical facilities, a number of these facilities didn’t connect to the disease prevention and control system in good time.

Hospitals were choked and health practitioners were overwhelmed this resulted in a mistake in the report. However Chinese officials stated that their nation’s aggressive response to the virus that is the lockdown directives for months put in place kept the pandemic disease from going out of hands.
