These 15 countries globally have recorded no case of COVID-19 so far

It’s been four months since the outbreak of coronavirus in the world. The disease that was first likened to flu of acute pneumonia when it broke out in December 2019 in Wuhan mainland China as now become a pandemic disease that the whole world is battling with.

The pandemic disease has infected more than two million people around the globe and about 127,587 people globally who have lost their lives to COVID-19. Every country in Europe, South America and even North America has recorded cases of the virus. 

However, there are 15 countries with no confirmed case of the novel coronavirus. These countries are in Australia, Asia, and Africa. Data from Worldometer shows that there are 2,013,581 infected around the globe, 127,587 lost to the cold arms of death for COVID-19 and 491,599 recovered patients in the world.

The 15 countries with no single cause of the virus are listed below: Nauru, Comoros, Tuvalu, Lesotho, Palau, North Korea, Marshall Islands, Tajikistan, Tonga, Turkmenistan, Micronesia, Solomon Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and Vanuatu. Just two countries in Africa have no recorded cases; Lesotho and Comoros.

Comoros is in East Africa with a population of 865,000 people. According to the US Embassy in the country, there are no recorded cases in the country as a result of a lack of testing. Lesotho, on the other hand, is a landed kingdom encircled in South Africa. South Africa has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Africa.

Lesotho, although it has no recorded case, is proactive as the country is on a 21-day lockdown which started 3 March. In Asia, 3 countries have no COVID-19 case. One of the countries in North Korea. They were the First Nation to implement border closure. The country shares a border with
China were the disease first broke out.

Following this, North Korea closed its border since 21 January and it still remains closed. North Korea is notable for its tough governance. The country hasn’t been restrictive about the impact of the virus in their country. The two other countries in Asia are Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

Tajikistan is said to be one of the slowest countries to take restrictive measures. The county shared borders with Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, and Afghanistan with confirmed cases of the virus. The land border in Turkmenistan has been shut since the early days in February. Several flights and those going to China were cancelled. 

Tuvalu and Nauru are two countries of the 10 countries with no recorded case of COVID-19 in Australia/Oceania. These countries are known to be the list visited countries in the world.
