Zamfara State Government says it has spent 22 million Naira for the fumigation of some strategic places in the state.
The idea is to prevent the outbreak and spread of Coronavirus.
The Commissioner for Environment, Mines, and Solid Mineral Development, Nurudeen Isad, let this out while speaking with reporters on the government’s efforts towards ensuring that no case of COVID-19 is recorded in Zamfara.
Isah emphasizes the need for people to imbibe attitudinal change and cooperate with the government in the fight against COVID-19 disease.
He sayid that as part of ongoing efforts by the Zamfara State Government to curtail the outbreak and spread of the Coronavirus, the state government has fumigated mosques, churches, motor parks, markets, and populated areas in the state.
The Environment Commissioner stressed the need to strengthen the enforcement of the land border closure, to prevent the influx of people into the state.
He appealed to residents of the state to maintain social distancing and clean environment.
The Zamfara State Commissioner for Environment, Mines and Solid Minerals Development disclosed that the second phase of the fumigation will be done after two weeks, in all the 14 local government areas of the state.
