The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Justice John Tsoho, has directed that special cases should continue before the Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt division.

In the directive made available to reporters on Friday by the Information Officer, Oby Nwandu, the Chief Judge directed Justice Nkeonye Maha to preside for the Abuja division, Muslim Hassan, Lagos, and Justice Hillary Oshomah for the Port Harcourt Judicial Division respectively.

The Judges have been chosen to serve at the Judicial Divisions, across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria.

The directive is said to be necessary due to the lockdown occasioned by the ravaging Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) with accompanying continuous restriction of both vehicular and human movements as ordered by both the Federal and State Governments.

Previously, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Mohammed, had issued a directive that only time bound cases should be heard during the COVID-19 lockdown.
