The Akwa Ibom State Government has announced an extension of the lockdown in the state by one week from Friday, April 17.
Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the COVID-19 Committee, Emmanuel Ekuwem, in a statement, said a seven-hour relaxation from 6 am to 1 pm on Friday and Saturday will be observed to afford people the opportunity to restock their supplies.
Ekuwem stated that all other regulations on social distancing, ban on public gathering, Jumaat and church services, and regulation on vehicular transportation remain in force.
