Djibouti and Cote D’Ivoire tops list of African Countries with most COVID-19 cases

Djibouti has become one of the most infected countries with the COVID 19 virus in Africa. The first case of the virus in the country was confirmed on the 18th of March and it has significantly increased within the last month so 308 cases.

On the 25th of March, the cases of the COVID 19 virus increased from 3 cases confirmed cases to 11 confirmed cases, by the 30th of March, 18 cases of the virus had been confirmed in Djibouti. By the 5th of April, Djibouti confirmed 50 cases of the COVID 19 virus, within the last 9 days, the virus significantly climbed to 308 cases in the country.

Cote d’Ivoire also witnessed a similar increase in the number of confirmed COVID 19 cases in the country.  The first case of the virus within the country was discovered on the 10th of March, the second case of the virus was confirmed on the 14th of March and by the 15th of March, it’s doubled 24 cases.

The number of confirmed cases of the virus within the country increased to 25 confirmed cases by the 23rd of March. Within a day 48 new cases were confirmed in the country making the total number of confirmed cases 73 by the 24th of March. By the end of the month, the country already confirmed 179 cases of the virus and significantly increased within the last 14 days to 638 cases.

So far Africa has confirmed about 16000 cases of the COVID 19 virus and has recorded 815 cases of the virus. South Africa has confirmed the highest number of the COVID 19 virus within the continent with 2,415 confirmed cases of the virus and about 27 deaths of the virus has been recorded.
