Coronavirus: Benue to review 2020 budget

In view of the current economic reality as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic threatening the entire globe, the Benue State Government has disclosed plans to review its 2020 Budget expenditure of 189 billion Naira downwards to the sum of 190 billion Naira for the fiscal year.

The State Governor, Samuel Ortom, who made this known shortly after an expanded council meeting in Makurdi, the state capital, equally announced the extension of the partial lockdown in the state for an additional two weeks as there are rising cases of the pandemic in other parts of the country.

There is no gain saying that the global Coronavirus pandemic has taken its toll on every facet of the economy due to restrictions lockdown or curfews in place and the closure of major business hubs.

The expanded council equally said it will utilise its area of comparative advantage by boosting food security.
