Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has ordered the total lockdown of the state for seven days.
A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar, said all markets are to remain closed while public gatherings are banned effective 10.00 pm on Thursday, April 16.
The state has recorded another positive case after 17 people who had contact with the index case in the state were tested.
Official statement will be made on the 60 people traced to have contact with the retired diplomat who first tested positive for Coronavirus.
“From Thursday, April 16, by 10 pm, Kano is locked down for the benefit of all in the state. All markets are closed and all public gatherings are banned. The lockdown is for seven days. We then wait and see what will come up. We are hoping that Allah will see us through,” Ganduje said.
