Adamawa State Government has relaxed restrictions over COVID-19 and has asked civil servants to resume work on Wednesday.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri in a state broadcast gave accolades to the people of the state for cooperating with the government to obey government directives to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
14th of April 2020 is exactly 14 days since the state went on partial lockdown. Restrictions were placed on religious and social gatherings of more than 50 persons.
Commercial vehicles were banned from operating, while markets were opened only for food vendors.
According to the government, the people of Adamawa state have shown high level of compliance and hence the need to relax the restrictions.
Commercial vehicle operators are now allowed to operate, on the condition of two passengers per vehicle.
Governor Fintiri has also said that should the state record any case of COVID-19, the government will not hesitate to adopt stricter measures to contain the disease.
