The Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri, has joined the list of persons donating cash and resources for the fight against COVID-19.
A statement signed by the Governor’s Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, noted that Fintiri donated his three months salary with effect from the month of April, 2020.
The donation is to support the Adamawa COVID-19 Containment Committee to avert the outbreak of the dreaded pandemic.
The Governor said, “Now is the time to act and not wait until the state is hit before we start making preparations to halt its spread.”
Governor Fintiri commended a clergyman of the Upper Room Church, Reverend Peter Makanto, for donating a 100 bed capacity hospital to serve as an isolation centre.
The Governor revealed that he is happy with the response and unity of people of the state in the battle to flatten the curve of the pandemic in the country, re-emphasizing the need to maintain strict hygiene and social distancing.
