The Benue state government has launched the sale of Tractors to farmers in the state at about sixty percent less than their original price.
The State Governor Samuel Ortom while launching the initiative which comprise of about fifty units of tractors says the aim is to encourage commercial crop production in the state.
Governor Ortom says the tractors were procured at the cost of thirteen point nine million but will be given to the beneficiaries at the cost of about five point six million Naira only.
He says all local government areas in the state will benefit from the scheme and farmers will have access to the tractors through functional cooperatives
