Yesterday, Thursday, 9th of April, the United States government threatened to ban China-controlled telecommunication companies from serving the US market due to security risk and also, legal risk.
This announcement was made by the United States justice department yesterday. According to the department the decision was made under the advice of the different state and homeland security and other top departments in the government.
The advice was to terminate and revoke all authorisations for Chinese telecommunication companies to service the US markets. If this motion is approved it will mean that all Chinese mobile phone operators will lose connectivity throughout the United States.
The United States government says that the reason for this is because Chinese telecommunication companies in the US are vulnerable to exploitation and influence by the Chinese government, which could endanger the security of the people living within the nation.
