Today, Friday, 10th of April, the Catholic church would Livestream Pope Francis’ prayer of the station of the cross and the passion of Saint Peter’s Basilica in Saint Peter’s square in the Vatican City of Rome.

Easter, the sacred holiday for Christians, that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, will unfortunately not be celebrated in the church this year, but at home because of the lockdown on many countries all across the world due to the COVID virus outbreak.

Italy has the highest case of death from the Coronavirus outbreak followed by Spain. Italy has confirmed 139,422 cases of the COVID 19 virus and has recorded 17,669 cases of death from the COVID 19 virus. Spain has confirmed 146,690 cases of the Coronavirus and 14,555 cases of death from the COVID 19 virus.

Portugal, on the other hand, had confirmed 13,141 cases of the COVID 19 virus with 380 cases of death, although the number of confirmed cases and the death toll of the virus is considerably lower than Italy and Spain the government has issued a nationwide lockdown in the country.

Poland has confirmed 5,205 cases of the coronavirus and recorded 159 deaths and the government of the country has imposed strict measures to curb the virus nationwide.

On Sunday 12th of April, the city of Milan will host Andrea Bocelli in an empty cathedral. The performance will be streamed on YouTube for viewers around the country and the world to enjoy.

The Pope has spoken out on the Coronavirus outbreak saying that it is the situation that humanity must draw lessons from and calling it a time to reconnect with nature.

He advised the people not to file the experience away and go back to how humanity was before the outbreak. He also gave thanks to all the people who have been helping hands during the time of this outbreak, the doctors, the nurses, neighbours, etc.
