President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of a Vice Chancellor for the newly established University of Agriculture, Zuru, in Kebbi State.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Muhammad Sabo Nanono, who made this known while conveying the letter of appointment to Professor Musa Isiyaku Ahmed, said that the legacies of the academic as the pioneer Vice Chancellor will largely determine the place the University will occupy in world ranking in the nearest future.
Professor Ahmed, who hails from Borno State, was until his appointment a Professor in the Department of Veterinary, Parasitology and Entomology at the University of Maiduguri in Borno State.
He is a Fellow, College of Veterinary Surgeons in Nigeria; Fellow, Institute of Human and Natural Resources; and Director, International Technology Centre of the University of Maiduguri among others.
Nanono also conveyed the letter of appointment to the Registrar of the University, Yusuf Abdulazeez Bazata, from Kebbi State, whose appointment was also approved by President Buhari for the smooth and unhindered take-off of the University.
