A 27-year-old clerk named Leilani Jordan, who was devoted to helping those in need passed away from the vicious, fast-spreading COVID 19 virus.
Her mother Zenobia Shepherd spoke out about her daughter’s passing. Zenobia said that even after the COVID 19 virus outbreak, Leilani Jordan kept on going to work, although she had challenging health conditions. Zenobia said that Leilani’s reason for continuing work was because Leilani’s co-workers stopped showing up to work from the fear of contacting the COVID 19 virus.
Leilani knew that someone had to do the work so she took up the responsibility upon herself and went to work every day. Zenobia said that Leilani complained about the fact that her workplace packed the protective measures to protect from the COVID 19 virus, such as hand sanitizers, face masks, and gloves.
She knew that she had to help the elderly customers to package their groceries and put them into their walkers, help them get into lifts, help them go to the bathroom and so on.
Leilani had been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, a congenital disorder of movement, posture and muscle tone that forms as a result of abnormal brain development, usually before birth.
The disease left Leilani vulnerable. By the time Leilani discovered she had the COVID 19 virus, she was taken to the hospital and fell unconscious and was immediately taken to the Intensive Care Unit and was intubated.
Zenobia Shepherd said that after Leilani’s passing, her husband, Leilani’s stepfather discovered Leilani had removed all her passwords from her phone and it was unlocked. He found a video message from Leilani saying her goodbye to her family and all her loved ones, she said, “see you on the other side.”
