The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed one new Coronavirus death and 16 new infections in the country.
The 16 new cases include 10 in Lagos, two in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, two in Oyo, and one each in Delta and Katsina States.
Delta and Katsina are reporting their first new cases bringing the total number of affected states in Nigeria to 17.
Nigeria now has 254 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 44 persons successfully treated and discharged.

Meanwhile, the FCT Minister, Muhammad Bello, had announced the discharge of seven people who had been on treatment for Covid-19 at the Isolation Centre in Abuja.
The Minister disclosed this Tuesday in Abuja in a statement personally signed by him.
He expressed optimism that the 39 who are still on admission would soon be discharged, commending the health personnel for their dedication to duty in spite of the pandemic.
Bello said, “Let me begin by appreciating the high level of compliance so far exhibited by residents of the FCT with regards to the 14-day restriction of movement as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari, with a view to curbing the Coronavirus pandemic.
