News reaching us affirms that a fire broke out at the office of the Accountant General of the Federation earlier today, popularly referred to as the Treasury House.
The office located at the Garki II District in Abuja with a cloud of smoke above it. Currently, 10 fire fighting trucks have been deployed to the complex to help stop the fire.
Our correspondent, Amadin Uyi was live at the location to bring us updates. The fire reportedly started from a malfunctioning air conditioning system that evolved into a full-blown out fire.
Unfortunately, the fourth layer of the building which houses the Data Centre went up in flames, on the good side, because most of the vital information was stored in the cloud, the fire did not impact the workings of the office of the Accountant General.
Luckily due to the lockdown, staff members are not on the premises and as such, no casualty has been sustained. Firemen have been able to successfully put out the fire.
