Zamfara State Police Command has raised alarm over a new trend of security threat, known as cultism, in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Usman Nagogo, made the disclosure in Gusau, the state capital.

He said the suspected cultists are planning some evil machinations against some political leaders in the state by applying unorthodox means .

CP Nagogo said the investigation on the matter is in progress and the Police will ensure the perpetrators are apprehended to face the full wrath of the law.

He appealed to residents of Zamfara State to assist the security agencies with vital information to rid the state of those bent on desecrating the Holy Qua’ran, or burning of cemeteries for selfish ends.

The house which the suspected cultists are said to use for their nefarious activities, is situated at Unguwar Dallatu in the Gusau Metropolis.

The Police alleged that whenever the suspected cultists enter the house, living creatures such as lizards and ants will die.
