Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has released a sum of 20 million Naira to Keke Napep Riders Association as palliative to cushion the effect of the 14 days stay-at-home ordered by the state government.
The 14 days lockdown imposed a ban on tricycle operators, also known as Keke Napep, a most popular means of transportation in the state.
The Governor in a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, stated that the government is fully aware of the effects of the 14 days lockdown on tricycle operators and as such released the sum of Twenty Million (N20,000,000.00) Naira to the association to cushion the impact.
Governor Fintiri commended the sacrifice and understanding of the citizens of the state in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
On other forms of palliatives, the Governor directed the State Emergency Management Agency to commence the distribution of food items to the vulnerable across the 21 local government areas of the state.
He, however, appealed to all to ensure they adhere to basic practices of hand washing, social distancing, and proper hygiene.
