Heavy downpour has destroyed several buildings in Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, OAUTHC, Ile Ife.
Medical Equipment worth millions of Naira were also torched by the downpour.
This incident has altered the medical care in the OAUTHC as patients are being evacuated to safe places.
Among the areas affected by the heavy rain which occurred on Tuesday are Children ward, Theartre Building, and Orthopaedic ward while patients in these affected areas were evacuated.
The Chief Medical Director of OAUTHC said the management is already over stretched with the preparation for the containment of Coronavirus and will need support to put the hospital in order.
Although the attention of the nation is on combatting Coronavirus, yet, the patients in the hospital also deserve quality medical care.
