Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, has announced a total lockdown in the state with no movement for 14 days beginning on Friday.
Governor Emmanuel, who stated this in a broadcast to the people of the state, appealed to them to observe all measures put in place for their good.
In his broadcast, the Governor stated that the state government had maintained transparency in the handling of the matter.
Governor Emmanuel said news of Coronavirus positive tests didn’t catch the state unawares as it was well prepared for any outbreak.
He announced a total lockdown except those on essential duties, grocery stores, and pharmacies.
