Mutahi Kagwe, the Health Cabinet Secretary announced that 8 new confirmed cases of the COVID 19 virus have been confirmed in Kenya yesterday, Monday 30th of March, increasing the total number of confirmed cases in the county to 50.

The new confirmed cases of the virus are not imported cases like the previous confined cases but are locally transmitted.

Mutahi Kagwe said that there were still 14 more people under quarantine who have been tested for the virus.
The result for the test will be revealed today, Tuesday, 31st of March.

He also said that 2,050 people will undergo compulsory quarantine and 172 samples from the group will be tested for the virus.

Mr Mutahi Kagwe announced that there was currently about 20,000 testing kit for the virus and the government is expecting more to arrive soon.
