Delta State Government has announced total lockdown of the state with effect from Wednesday, April 1, 2020, excluding those involved in the transportation of essential supplies like, petroleum products, food, pharmaceutical products among others.
The State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who gave this order in his state broadcast, said the order is in furtherance of the state government’s efforts to prevent and contain the spread of Coronavirus in Delta State.
The broadcast warned against all forms of sporting event during the lockdown while foodstuff sellers were permitted to conduct their businesses within their homes but that will be under the government monitoring.
The Governor solicited the cooperation and patience of Deltans during the period with a call on wealthy Nigerians particularly Deltans to give financial support for the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
