Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, says the ongoing construction work at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu in South-East Nigeria has been suspended due to the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country.

Sirika made this known while at the airport to assess the quality of construction work by the contractor.

The Minister, who was accompanied by other government officials, inspected other facilities at the
airport.

He assured that the Federal Government will do everything possible to complete the airport project once the contractor returns to work after Coronavirus pandemic.

Sirika appealed to Nigerians especially the people of the South-East to be patient with the contractor.

The Akanu Ibiam International Airport rehabilitation project was initially billed to be completed by the contractor before celebration of Easter in April this year.
