Bill Cosby’s lawyers are filing a motion to get him released from a Pennsylvania jail amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

As the World Health Organisation (WHO) officials urge people to stay home and practice social distancing.

According to the comic’s lawyers, they want the star put on house arrest amid reports that at least one prison officer has tested positive for Covid-19.

Cosby’s spokesman Andrew Wyatt said Bill Cosby is no detriment or danger to the community. He further stated he is an elderly man, he is blind and he is able to stay under house arrest with the care of his wife.

Bill Cosby is currently serving three to 10 years at State Correctional Institution – Phoenix in Montgomery County, after he was found guilty of drugging and raping Temple University staff member Andrea Constand.
