Odion Ighalo, a Nigerian footballer who plays as a striker for Manchester United, an English Premier League club may become Africa’s best-paid player. Ighalo who may either decide to continue playing for Manchester United or take the mouth-watering deal the Chinese big spenders are offering to pay him if he goes back to join again his Shanghai Shenhua team.
The Chinese big spenders offered to pay the Nigerian footballer 180 million per week which is an equivalent of £400,000.
The English Premier League club is also planning a permanent deal to keep Ighalo once his six-month loan deal expires in December 2022. However, if Ighalo will hop on the deal or stay with Manchester United remains unknown.
Similarly, in 2016, Ighalo received a huge deal from another Chinese club during his first breakout season in the premier league with Watford which he turned down. He revealed afterwards that he turned the deal down because it was never about the money, and also that he had long nights for 3 days reviewing the pros and cons of the offer.
The Nigerian footballer says it is a dream come true for him to be playing for a club he admires and loves since he was a child. Since he started playing for the United, he has been very impressive and has a good impact on the club.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the current manager of the English Premier League Club stated that the best thing about Odion Ighalo is his personality. And also undoubtedly a valuable addition to the team.
