The total number of confirmed cases of the COVID 19 virus in Eritrea has increased to four.
All cases of the COVID 19 virus in Eritrea are imported cases. A locally transmitted case is yet to be confirmed. The first confirmed case was from a traveler arriving from Norway, which was announced on Saturday, 21st of March.
Three new cases have been confirmed from three passengers who arrived from Dubai on Air Arabia on the 23rd of March. The test results were confirmed positive yesterday, Wednesday, 25th of March.
All passengers who were on the same flight with the carrier have been placed in quarantine in Villagio Hospital, Asmara, along with the people they had physical contact with.
All Commercial flights to and from Eritrea have been banned. The ban was imposed yesterday, 25th of March and will remain in place for the next two weeks until further review.
