The Enyimba FC midfielder had been abducted three days ago by kidnappers on his way home following their last NPFL match.

This was following the suspension of the Nigerian Professional League due to the outbreak of covid19 in Nigeria and the city of Lagos in particular.

He was kidnapped alongside his friend and Abia Comets player Benjamin Iluyomade and the duo was released last night. Enyimba FC announced that Ojo was released last night via their official Twitter account.

In a press statement released by Enyimba, they made it clear that the players were released thanks to the combined efforts of the football club and the families of the players. The players have since been reunited with their families.
