709 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus in South Africa according to the country’s health minister Zweli Mkhize.

There is a rapid surge in the number of confirmed cases of the pandemic disease in South Africa. Just yesterday, the number of recorded cases was 554.

The number increased by 155 in one day. According to Zweli, a free state Church made up at least 50 new confirmed cases.

He then stated that South Africans should remain at home adhering to the 21-days lockdown and urged them to stay indoors even during Easter celebration.

South Africa is the southernmost country in Africa with a population of more than 58 million.
