Boubou-Cissé-reassures enough ventilators

After numerous speculations about the Malian government’s inability to manage the COVID 19 virus outbreak because of a reported lack of ventilators, the Malian government announced on Monday, 23rd of March that there were many ventilators available in the country’s health centres for dealing with the COVID 19 infected patients.

Boubou Cisse, the Prime Minister of Mali, said that the country was preparing for the worst. The Mali government has already shut down its borders, banned air travel, they’ve also shut down schools from the nursery level to the tertiary level. Large gatherings of people of more than 50 have also been prohibited.

The Mali government is yet to confirm any case of the COVID 19 virus in the country but the country’s high poverty level and inadequate medical infrastructure have become a cause for concern.

Also the conflicts currently going on in the country can cause a rapid spread of the virus and limit many individuals from seeking proper health care.
