Lagos State Government has announced total lockdown over Coronavirus with effect from Thursday this week.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who issued the Executive Order during a statewide broadcast on Tuesday, said that the lockdown will be for seven days.
The lockdown affects all business activities in non-food and drugs markets operation in the state.
Sanwo-Olu said that the lockdown became necessary to stem the spread of the Coronavirus in the state.
Lagos State has 29 of the 42 confirmed Coronavirus cases in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Health Commissioner, Professor Akin Abayomi has issued an alert that all participants at African Magic viewers’ Choice Award, AMVCA held on March 14 at the Eko Hotels may have come in contact with one confirmed Coronavirus case
Abayomi, therefore, advised AMVCA attendees to self-isolate and contact toll free line 08000corona if they notice any Coronavirus related symptoms
