In a statement released yesterday, Arsenal Football Club announced that they would not be resuming training as previously scheduled. Their return to training will be postponed until further notice due to the ongoing pandemic which currently affects England.
The club has urged their fans and the football family to stay at home and save lives.
The players have also resumed training on Tuesday after a 14-day period of self-isolation after club manager Mikel Arteta was diagnosed with coronavirus. The players have completed the isolation process and have been tested for covid19All tests came down negative.
The club expressed concerns over the safety of the staff, fans and players during this period. They have urged the public to adhere to the guidelines of the World Health Organization concerning preventive measures against the spread of the deadly virus.
The club would release another statement on the 30th of April which is the date at which the current suspension of Premier League football will end. Although there is no certainty of when football will resume, the lives of people matter, football can come later.
