There has been a rapid outbreak of the coronavirus over the last few days among NBA players across different teams. Last week, two players from the Utah Jazz (Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell) one player from the Detroit Pistons (Chris Wood) all tested positive for COVID19.
All who tested positive after the NBA season had been suspended. Through the course of the week, Kevin Durant tested positive as well as players from other teams. The Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, Portland Trailblazers, Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers and Dallas Mavericks all have players infected with the coronavirus. Some teams have kept the identity of the players anonymous.
NBA executive Michele Roberts heard 40-50% of NBA players and staff could test positive for the coronavirus. The NBA has shut down all team training facilities due to coronavirus for players and personnel. NBA commissioner Adam Silver says he’s uncertain if the 2019-2020 NBA season will continue.
