The outbreak of the coronavirus has left certain clubs in financial dilemmas in relation to the payment of wages. FC Sion had to slash the wages of their players in order to keep the club running.

Some of the players did not agree to the reduced wages and it has been reported that those players were sacked.

About nine players were reported sacked. Among those players are two former Arsenal players, Alexander Song and Johan Djourou as well as former Fulham player, Pajtim Kasami.

Although it is yet to be confirmed, these are former top-flight players who would not want to be underpaid for their services.
