Bulgarian heavyweight boxer, Kubrat Pulev, believes that the scheduled fight between him and current two time unified heavyweight division champion, Anthony Joshua cannot take place due to the current outbreak of the Coronavirus which has turned into a global pandemic.
Many sporting activities have been put on hold as athletes across all sports have now began to test positive for the coronavirus.
Due to the trend of events being rescheduled, postponed or suspended, it is expected that the heavyweight bout between Joshua will be suspended till further notice.
The bout was initially slated for the 20th of June at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in England. Despite the statement released by Pulev, no official decision has been made by the WBO or IBF.
Another reason why the bout would most likely not hold is because the Premier League season might still be on as it is currently on suspension till April 30th which means that Tottenham Hotspur will still be playing home matches.
If the fight is called off, this means that the potential bout between Joshua and Fury will be postponed till next year as well. The boxing calendar is definitely set for a reset.
