Juventus midfielder and France International Blaise Matuidi yesterday confirmed that he had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Two days ago, Italian Sports Journalist Fabrizio Romano already reported that the former PSG star had been found positive but the player confirmed through his twitter account yesterday.

This comes after Matuidi’s teammate, Daniele Rugani had already tested positive last week. The Juventus players had been in self-isolation ever since the news broke. There were rumours that Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain were also infected.

After their last league match in the derby Italia against Inter Milan, Juventus star-man returned to his home in Portugal to self-isolate with his family. After his teammate Rugani announced he had been infected, Ronaldo then told Juventus that he will not return to Italy till the pandemic subsides.

However, Matuidi confirmed that he is in good spirit despite testing positive for the virus. He is being treated and responding well to treatment.
