dead man to pay tithe

Surprise as Church in Nigeria refuses to officiate the funeral of a dead man unless his tithe debt from three years ago was cleared by his family members. This has stirred controversies of whether dead people are supposed to pay tithes.

Already, the tithe is a controversial topic in the Church. While some Christians pay tithe and not miss paying, some others do not see the need to because they see it as their Pastors looting them.

A Nigerian took to twitter to express his displeasure over the situation where his Colleague’s Father had died and his Church refused to officiate the burial because he died without paying his tithes and also he stopped attending the Church before he breathes his last. This narration drove traffic as other people shared similar instances.

Another Twitter user shared experience of her Father’s death and the Church where the man dedicated his seven children refused to officiate his burial because he didn’t attend Church months before his death and also they don’t want the sad news to spoil their December program. Others shared similar distasteful experience.

A famous Nigerian Singer, Timi Dakolo took to his Instagram page to invest their money instead of sowing seeds because Jesus Christ is not a money doubler. However, the question is, should dead people even pay tithe?
