In response to an application filed yesterday, the Federal High Court has ordered the release of the recently deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi after allegations of insubordination led to his dethronement on the 9th of March.
Within his application, Sanusi requested to be released from detention and restoring their right to human dignity, personal liberty and his freedom of Movement across Nigeria.
Sanusi’s lawyer had argued that he has categorically offered not to go to Kano until the case has been decided upon.
Sanusi has reportedly now left his abdication home in Awe, Kano State in the company of Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai who came to visit him.
