The World Health Organisation, WHO, has declared the Coronavirus outbreak as a pandemic after over 100, 000 persons have been infected and over 4000 deaths recorded worldwide.
The WHO Director-General, Tedros Ghebreyesus, at a media briefing on the COVID-19, said inaction by governments across the globe has fuelled the crisis.
A pandemic is described as the uncontrolled worldwide spread of a new disease.
The last crisis to be given the label was the 2009 Swine Flu outbreak which killed thousands of people.
Europe is now the centre of the crisis, with the number of cases soaring every day in Italy where about 60 million residents have been affected by an unprecedented lockdown.
