Ministry of health announces four new cases

The Lagos State Government says it has quarantined six more suspects of Coronavirus while a set of three contacts of the index case who have been isolated in the state tested negative.

Among the new suspects are a family of four children and their teacher who recently returned from the United States of America. They are now at the biosecurity facility of the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba.

Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, who disclosed this on Wednesday evening while giving an updates on Coronavirus in Lagos stated that the four children and their teacher got in close contact with someone who had Coronavirus infection.

Though the first test carried out on them turned negative, the Commissioner said confirmation tests will still be repeated to determine the next point of action.

He explained that the index case is responding well to treatment adding that his viral load is going down significantly with no symptoms exhibited.

He, however, stated that he cannot be released into the community now until the virus is undetectable and cannot infect others.

On the second confirmed case, Abayomi noted that he is doing well with no major symptoms but only exhibits minor aches and pain.

Meanwhile, the two passengers on the Turkish Airline who could not be traced because of wrong information have also been found within 24 hours after their names were published by the media .
