As the cases of coronavirus dwindle in China, it is rapidly increasing in Italy. The virus killed over 168 people yesterday, Tuesday 10th March in Italy, which has been the highest number of deaths recorded in the country in one day since the outbreak was confirmed in the country.
In total, over 631 people have died in Italy from the COVID-19 since the outbreak of the virus. About 10,150 cases have now been confirmed in Italy. The rapid spread of the virus in the country has resulted in the lockdown of some regions and quarantine of over 60 million people.
Giuseppe Conte, the prime minister of Italy announced that the government will contribute more money to fight the outbreak, increasing the money allocated to fight the virus to $28.3 billion dollars, an increase from the $8.5 billion that was announced last week.
Over 4000 people have died from the COVID 19 and over 115,000 cases of the virus have been confirmed worldwide. According to WHO, about 64,000 people have recovered from the virus worldwide.
