ronaldinho to face 6 months in prison

Legendary Brazilian playmaker Ronaldo de Assis Moreira popularly known as Ronaldinho was arrested along with his brother by Paraguayan officials after the duo tried to use fake passports to get into the South American country.

Ronaldinho and Roberto said their motives for going to Paraguay were for business and a Brazilian businessman, Wilmondes Sousa Liria, has given them the passports as a gift.

Over the weekend the former 39-year-old and his brother were taken to a Paraguay courthouse in handcuffs. The prosecutors tried to extend the arrest of the former midfielder and his brother.

At the same time, defence attorney Sergio Queiroz says that both Ronaldinho and Roberto should be home since they are not a hazard or a danger to flight.

Ronaldinho, a double-time winner of the Ballon d’Or, currently lacks a Brazilian passport because of an environmental fine he got in 2018.
