Another edition of the Wear Ghana Festival has been launched, which will make it the 3rd by The National Commission on Culture (NCC). The aim of this festival, with the sole purpose of promoting local textiles and creating employment for the youth, who are fashion-driven.
The Festival is themed “Hy3 Wode3” which means “Wear your own” the festival is organised by the National Commission on Culture in collaboration with the Ghana Textile Production, Ghana Tourism Authority and Street Fashion Train.
Madame Janet Edna Nyame The Executive Director of the National Commission on Culture emphasized the importance of promoting national identity, she further encouraged institutions to adopt local fabric patterns and designs in their clothes.
She went on to commend the President of Ghana His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for representing the culture by always appearing in his local fabric style shirt.
In order to sell Ghana to the world
Fashion Stakeholders were encouraged to take advantage of the festival. The Festival begins on March 5, 2020, with a fashion Night to be staged at the National Theatre Ghana
