On Saturday, Watford ended the chances of Liverpool ending the season unbeaten. The result has created so much buzz about the English Premier League and how unpredictable it can be. On paper, Liverpool was clearly the better team but that was not the case as Watford shocked the Reds at Vicarage Road.

The soon to be League champions produced a lacklustre performance against the Hornets which caused a setback to them securing the league as early as possible. Liverpool conceded three goals in 18 minutes, all in the second half. The Liverpool defence was absolutely terrible as they lacked concentration and failed to contain the Watford attackers.

Ismaila Sarr bagged a brace after an impressive performance. It took the Senegalese youngster a while to settle into the League but he has certainly found his comfort zone under new boss Nigel Pearson. He has been consistent in his performances since the former Leicester coach took last year.

Before going off injured, Gerard Deulofeu was doing a good job of creating chances and applying pressure on the Liverpool defence alongside Ismaila Sarr and Troy Deeney who scored the third goal after an error by Andrew Robertson which forced Alisson to leave his post open.

The Liverpool team found it difficult to create chances as Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah were kept quiet for the entirety of the match. Virgil van Dijk was a shadow of himself as he was outsmarted by Sarr and Deeney on a couple of occasions. The victory leapfrogged Watford from 19th position to 17th as the relegation battle heats up.

The defeat is a reality check for Liverpool who was second best for the second time in 2 weeks as they previously lost away to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. Jurgen Klopp would need to keep his players focused in order to make sure their season ends on a high.

The 22-point gap between Liverpool and Manchester City still stands as Manchester City did not compete in the Premier League this weekend due t their involvement in the Carabao Cup final. Liverpool now needs to win five consecutive matches to achieve their first Premier League triumph in the modern era.
