A Chinese person was taken to Reddington Hospital in Ikeja on Wednesday after being suspected of having Covid-19. However, Professor Akin Abayomi, the commissioner of health said in a press conference yesterday that the Chinese tested negative for the Covid19 after thorough investigations and sophisticated testing.
The Chinese reportedly arrived in Lagos, Nigeria several weeks ago and recently started complaining about a fever, he was placed in an isolation unit and his blood sample was taken to a virology laboratory for thorough analysis and testing and was confirmed negative. This is the third false case of the Covid-19 in Lagos.
The commissioner instructed Lagosians to avoid unnecessary panic and resist spreading fake news of confirmed cases on their social media, he reassured Lagosians that they are very vigilant and have plans to take care of the virus if any case is confirmed.
