World acclaimed CNN journalist, Fareed Zakaria has recently published a report which directly negates the morale behind the recent ban/restriction of permanent Visa’s of some African nationals from the United States.
According to the report, four of the listed countries, namely Nigeria, Myanmar, Tanzania and Eritrea have been responsible for nil cases of terror-related crimes in the United States between 1975 – 2017.
In addition, he revealed that Nigerians have met all the requirements that the United States President is currently seeking foreign nationals to contribute positively to the American Economy. They currently are the most educated immigrants in the states, accounting for 59% almost double that of indigenous Americans and higher than those of other nationals.
It was also reported that not only do they hold high skilled white-collar jobs, but they also pay as much as $4 billion in taxes and send an enormous amount of funds home.
Specialists have described Trump’s recent addition of Nigeria as part of nationals to be restricted from the States as policy incoherence and other analysts have shared that the ban is in fact counter-productive. Read more about it here…
Of course all other visas are not banned because the United States wants to shamelessly continue to make millions everyday and denying visas en mass even to very eligible candidates. Trump and his ignorant team are truly delusional thinking that every Nigerian who sees the United States wouldn’t want to go back. There are tons of Nigerians who are highly successful in their own country and would never dream of living in the United States or anywhere else. A country where your kid goes to school and you are not sure if they’d come back alive is God’s own country???? Maybe not.
