UNICEF launches initiative to get children back to school

The United Nation’s Children Education Fund UNICEF has introduced the Child-Friendly Communities Initiative in two local government areas of Adamawa State.

The Initiative is expected to provide services that will boost children enrollment in schools and get out of school children back into community schools.

UNICEF says the programme will be implemented in Fufore and Guyuk local government areas of the state, in a bid to allow the children in the two pilot communities have access to education, immunization, birth registration, treatment for malnutrition, as well as encourage local households to have daily access to facilities such as toilets among others.
