V.P Osinbajo discloses plans to recruit more security personnel to fight Insecurity

The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo made it known to the public that the Buhari administration holds the security of the country in high esteem and also measures are put in place to ensure the security of its citizens.

Osinbajo met with clergymen from North and discussed plans of the Federal government on security issues and concerns. The Vice President stated that the country plans on stationing military men in different places in the country including places like Northeast where the case of Boko haram is prominent.

“In fact, we have to now recruit more into the army, and much faster than we ever did because we need men on the ground; resources also – to buy more arms, to buy more platforms,” Osinbajo had said.

The Buhari administration said to recruit in the army both men and women, to also be in partnerships with local vigilantes known for safeguarding streets. To collaborate with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and other people along this line.

While assuring us in his statement, he also pointed out that the issue of security is not an easy one as it is very challenging. He stated that the administration is looking into the aspect of surveillance. Using drones, and electric devices to enhance surveillance and make the security of the country tighter.

He puts the clergymen’s mind at rest as he stated that the Federal government is working on stabilizing and wiping out security challenges and situations bothering on religious prejudices. He also told the clergy that ideas on finding lasting peace are welcomed from them also.
According to Bishop Mbayo Japhet, the President of the forum said the visit of the clergymen to the Presidential Villa is to give support to the Buhari administration.
